- 3101-Applied Math I (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr. 11-12) Prerequisite: Algebra I or Algebra II This course is the first of a 3 part Applied Mathematic series. Its focuses on numerical operations, Problem solving techniques, estimation of answers, measurement skills, Geometry, and data manipulation. Students are involved with hands-on activities that demonstrate the application of mathematics skill on concrete and visual situations relevant to their lives. Additionally, Review of skills is done in a problem solving format and calculators are implemented in all phases. This courses should be followed by Applied Math II
- 3109-Applied Math II (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr. 11-12) Prerequisite: Algebra I or Algebra II This course is the second in the 3 part Applied Mathematic series. It focuses on measurement skills, algebra, data handling ,and statistics. it s focuses on measured skills, algebra, data handling , and statics. it involves problem solving, estimation of answers, and the use of technology. Students work through hands-on activities that demonstrate the applications of mathematical skills in daily life. This course could be followed by Applied Math III
- 3110-Applied Math II (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr. 11-12) Prerequisite: Algebra I or Algebra II This course is the last on a 3 part Applied Mathematic series. it focuses on sharpening and introducing basic trig & Pre-Calculus. Students will work through activities and hands- on experiments which replicate problem situations in the physical world.
- 3105-Algebra I (1 unit, Gr. 9-12) Algebra I is the study of relations and equations and their applications in the physical world. The course treats these relations by means of letters, signs of operation, and the other symbols. students will explore data, patterns, and relation and will organize their findings with representative equations and functions. They will produce solutions for algebraic situations and explore concepts with technology. Algebra I should be followed by Geometry. The Algebra I student may wish to consider in later years Algebra II, Trig & Pre-Calculus and College Prep Algebra, College Pre Algebra, and Calculus. (Algebra Geometry I and/ or Algebra 1B)
- 3108-College Prep Algebra/Geometry I (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr.9) This course continues the rigorous mathematical development from middle school. Through investigations of real life context, students advance their understanding of mathematics along interwoven strands of algebra and functions, statistics and probability, geometry and trig & Pre- Calculus, and discrete mathematics. These strands are unified by fundamental themes, by common topics, and by mathematical habits of mind such as visual thinking, recursive thinking, and searching for and explaining patterns.
- 3130- College Prep Algebra/ Geometry I For Non-Freshmen (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr. 10) This courses continues the rigorous mathematical development from middle school . Through investigations of real life context, students advance their understanding of mathematics along interwoven strands of algebra and functions, statistics and probability, geometry and trig & Pre-Calculus, and discrete mathematics. These strands are unified by fundamental themes, by common topics, and by mathematical habits of mind such as visual thinking, recursive thinking, and searching for and explaining patterns.
- 3128- College Prep Algebra/Geometry II (WCHS) (1 unit, Gr.10) This course will continue the studies begun in college prep Algebra/Geometry I. Through investigations of real life contexts, students advance their understanding of mathematics. These strands are unified by fundamental themes, by common topic, and by mathematical habits of mind such as visual thinking, recursive thinking, and searching for an explaining patterns.
- 3129-Core Support for Math- (WCHS) ( 1/2 unit elective credit, Gr. 9- 10) Students will be provided additional opportunities to gain the necessary core skills, organizational strategies, and study habits for success in high school and beyond. The goal of the Core Support is for students to acquire the necessary skill to pass their core classes and continue to be successful during the next semester without the need of further enrollment in the Core Support.
- 3131-Double-Block Integrated Algebra/Geometry I (THS) (double block-1 unit of math and 1 unit of elective,Gr.9) This course continues the rigorous mathematical development from middle school. Students will study the following areas of mathematics: Algebra, Statistics and probability, geometry, and discrete mathematics. Students will learn mathematics through application of concepts. Students will also develop skills in problem solving, reasoning and communication.
- 3132-Intedrated Algebra/Geometry I for non -freshmen (THS) (1 unit, Gr.10) This course continues the rigorous mathematical development from middle school. Students will study the following areas of mathematics: Algebra, statistics and probability, geometry, and discrete mathematics. Students will learn mathematics through application of concept. Students will also develop skills in problem solving, reasoning and communication.
- 3113-Geometry (1 unit. Gr. 9-12) Prerequisite: Algebra I or the 8th grade students who performed successfully on the placement test administered during second semester of 8th grade. This course is a study of relationships between points, lines, and planes as experienced in physical space. Emphasis will be placed on constructions and logical developments will be place on constructions and logical development of proofs through the study of number properties, sets, congruencies, and similarities. Students should follow this course with Algebra II.
