  • 1601-Journalism I (1 unit, Gr. 10-11) Students in Journalism I will analyze media content, follow a development of journalism through its history and literature, study newspaper writing techniques, design and production. Emphasis will be on actual writing experience. A student must have at least a B- average grade in English to enroll in this course.
  • 1603-Journalism II (1 unit, Gr. 11-12, weighted) Prerequisite: Journalism I. This laboratory class is the actual production of the school newspaper.
  • 1605-Journalism III (1 unit, Gr. 12, weighted) Prerequisite: B or above in Journalism II This course for is offered to seniors who wish to further their studies in Journalism. Students will do more advanced writing for publication and edit writing and design.
  • 1701-Publications I (1 unit, Gr. 10-11) In addition to examining yearbooks through content analysis, students will study design, photographic and writing techniques of production. A student must have at least a B- average in English to enroll in this course.
  • 1703-Publications II (1 unit, Gr. 11-12, weighted) Prerequisite: Publications I. This laboratory class is the actual production of the school yearbook.
  • 1709-Publications III (1 unit, Gr. 12, weighted) Prerequisite: B or above in Publications II This course is offered to seniors who wish to further their studies in Publications. Students will analyze ethical and legal issues in student and professional publications, integrate publications with the World Wide Web, and publish a web site.
